Sensitisation Workshop on Improving the Provision of Gynaecological Healthcare in Bangladesh

Maternal and Child Health Division is implementing a study titled “Improving the provision of gynaecological healthcare in Bangladesh: Addressing the significant burden of gynaecological diseases on women’s health with high-quality training, mentorship and integration with existing services”. To improve women’s gynaecological health and quality of life in Bangladesh, by implementing the Essential Gynaecology Skills (EGS) training package, MCHD is going to implement the study under the leadership of Maternal Health Programme, DGHS, with technical support from the OGSB and funding from The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) and Global Affairs Canada (GAC). A sensitisation workshop was organised in Hotel Sarina, Banani, Dhaka, on 22 August 2022, where Maternal Health Programmes of DGHS and DGFP, and representatives from the OGSB, RCOG, WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, Ipas Bangladesh, and Save the Children International participated. Senior Vice President for Global Health and President-Elect of RCOG - Dr Ranee Thakar shared an overview of the EGS training package with the audience. Director (MCH) & Line Director (MCRAH), DGFP closed the workshop appreciating this structured initiative.
