Global Affairs Canada representatives visited AdSEARCH by icddr,b
On 31 May 2023, Global Affairs Canada (GAC) representatives paid a visit to the AdSEARCH team at icddr,b. The delegation included Joe Goodings, Head of Development Cooperation at the High Commission of Canada in Dhaka, along with Dr Momena Khatun, Health Technical Specialist, and Farjana Sultana, Development Advisor, High Commission of Canada, Dhaka. The purpose of the visit was to receive updates on the advancements of AdSEARCH work after its 2nd year of the project. Upon their arrival, the visiting team was warmly welcomed at the campus.
During the meeting, Dr Ahmed Ehsanur Rahman Scientist, Maternal and Child Health Division(MCHD), icddr,b. and Technical Coordinator of AdSEARCH, presented an overview of the project's achievements in various areas. These areas included policy and advocacy, research and activities, scientific contributions & communication materials, and stakeholder engagement. He also outlined the plans for the upcoming third year of the project. The GAC representatives observed the activities and progress presented by AdSEARCH. They provided valuable feedback and comments, offering their insights to further enhance the project's effectiveness.
AdSEARCH’s Project Management Team, Theme Leads, PI’s, and project’s personnel were present at the meeting. AdSEARCH by icddr,b is a project supported by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) that aims to address the needs and find solutions pertaining to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). The project is scheduled to run from March 2021 to September 2025, with the goal of achieving significant milestones in the field of SRHR.
