Innovation and Evidence Hub by AdSEARCH: Launched to Drive Advances in SRHR
To foster innovations in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) AdSEARCH by icddr,b, inaugurated its yearlong Innovation and Evidence Hub programme on 29 May 2023 at icddr,b Sasakawa Auditorium. Researchers, Partners, mentors, finalists, and other SRHR stakeholders experienced this Inauguration Ceremony and the first networking event of the Hub.
The event commenced with a warm welcome speech by Dr Quamrun Nahar, Head of Research, MCHD, and the Deputy Project Director of AdSEARCH by icddr,b. Ahmed Ehsanur Rahman, Scientist, MCHD, and Technical Coordinator of AdSEARCH, provided an enlightening overview of the hub's objectives, operational plan, committee, and contact details. The hub aims to encourage innovation, evidence-based research, and collaboration, with a specific focus on developing and testing novel products that address the diverse needs and challenges faced by different populations. It identified over 60 mentees from the pool of Best Abstracts and Best Innovation contest finalists and reviewers, and 22 external and internal mentors.
Prior to the inauguration, the journey of the hub was officially launched during the National Conference 2023: Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights in Bangladesh (NCSRHR2023) on 3 May 2023. During the second part of the programme, the winners and finalists of the NCSRHR2023 were acknowledged and presented with crests and certificates. This recognition served to highlight their contributions to advancing SRHR. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Anisuddin Ahmed, Project Coordinator AdSEARCH by icddr,b expressing gratitude to all participants, partners, and stakeholders for their support and commitment.
