AdSEARCH Capacity Development Knowledge sharing session on SRHR based on The Guttmacher-Lancet Commission

Under the capacity development programme, AdSEARCH by icddr,b has organised a series of knowledge-sharing sessions on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) based on the Guttmacher-Lancet Commission and are exclusively tailored for the members of the Innovation and Evidence Hub by AdSEARCH.

The series commenced with a session on Adolescent SRHR, with a focus on evidence presented by The Guttmacher-Lancet Commission. Subsequently, the second session explored the Commission's findings on Gender-based Violence. The most recent session centred on Contraceptives, based on the report titled ‘Accelerate Progress: SRHR for All’ by the Guttmacher-Lancet Commission.

These evidence-based sessions are led by the young researchers of AdSEARCH. They serve as a catalyst for mentees, assisting them to develop manuscripts and publish their research findings in international journals. The sessions offer valuable opportunities to learn research techniques, data analysis, and effective tactics in the realm of SRHR.

The primary goal of these evidence-based sessions is to enhance the research capabilities of the mentees and facilitate knowledge exchange among peers.

To foster innovations in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) AdSEARCH by icddr,b, inaugurated its yearlong Innovation and Evidence Hub programme on 29 May 2023. The hub aims to encourage innovation, evidence-based research, and collaboration, with a specific focus on developing and testing novel products that address the diverse needs and challenges faced by different populations. It has identified over 64 mentees and 22 external and internal mentors.
