AdSEARCH participated Transformative Smart Bangladesh Summit
On October 30-31, 2023 AdSEARCH by icddr,b, attended a two-day summit titled the "Transformative Smart Bangladesh Summit," organised by ICT division and a2i in Dhaka. The summit had a primary focus on various aspects of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) aimed at bridging the digital divide.
Dr. Ahmed Ehsanur Rahman, Scientist, Maternal and Child Health Division (MCHD) of icddr,b, presented on the topic of 'The Future of Intelligence in Pregnancy Monitoring in the Bangladesh Context’ where he emphasised the importance of efficiently utilizing technologies to improve maternal and neonatal health. The objective of the proposed study is to design and develop a wearable device-based artificial intelligence-powered prototype and a health system implementation model for early prediction and management of adverse pregnancy complications based on real-time pregnancy monitoring.
The summit also featured a panel discussion moderated by Anir Chowdhury, Policy Advisor of a2i, which highlighted the crucial role of AI in reducing digital disparities and promoting sustainability. Mohammad Navid Shafiullah, Additional Secretary of the ICT Division, delivered the opening remarks, setting the stage for a series of thought-provoking discussions. State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak shared valuable insights into the pivotal role of Artificial Intelligence.
Furthermore, during the summit, icddr,b participated in the poster presentation segment.
