Co-design Workshop on enabling Service Provision for Adolescents in a Rural Area in Bangladesh
On 31 July 2023 AdSEARCH by icddr,b organised a co-design workshop for the research project “Enabling Service Provision for Adolescents in a Rural Area in Bangladesh” at Baliakandi Upazila Health Complex, Rajbari in collaboration with the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Bangladesh.
Dr Quamrun Nahar, Head of Research, Maternal and Child Health Division, icddr,b presented the overview of ongoing and future activities of icddr,b on adolescent health at Baliakandi. During the workshop, the discussants were shedding light on health facility-based activities, school-based activities, and community-based activities, focused on improving adolescent health in Baliakandi. The research aims to develop a comprehensive health service for adolescents in Baliakandi Upazila. Dr Md Shamsul Hoque, Programme Manager (AH&SH), MNC& AH,DGHS attended the workshop as the Chief Guest. He highlighted the current situation of adolescent health in Bangladesh and an overview of the Government strategies and programmes.
Dr Mohammad Ibrahim Titon, Civil Surgeon Rajbari district chaired the workshop. Different stakeholders, including adolescents, students, religious leaders, civil society members, and other officials, attended the workshop.
