Reusable menstrual cup can be an effective, cost-effective and eco-friendly menstrual product alternative. Contexts, where insertable menstrual products were not used earlier– studies reported higher acceptability of reusable menstrual cup after overcoming initial behavioral barriers. However, it requires further research on feasibility and acceptability of the cup in different cultural contexts. To understand feasibility and acceptability of reusable menstrual cup in the context of Bangladesh, we are conducting a 12 months long pilot study. Eighty-five female RMG workers are being provided with the intervention (menstrual cup) who are voluntarily agree to wear the cup and to be followed for next 6 menstrual cycles as the cup comes with steep learning curve. We will assess whether the cup can be a better alternative for them considering their work-pressure, job-nature and work environment within factory setting. Ultimately, we will also document their experiences and satisfactions using the cup for menstruation management both at work and at home through a mixed method approach.
