Service Overview

Under hospital services, we have established a counselling corner named “Uddipto SRHR Counselling Corner” within the reach of patients (women and adolescent girls) and their female caregivers coming to icddr,b Dhaka Hospital. Here, individual/ one to one counselling is being provided to the beneficiaries through a trained counsellor. Since October 2021 untill 25th October 2023, 919 adolescent and women with SRHR related problems received counselling services. Patients with STIs and with other gynaecological symptoms are being prescribed and supplied with necessary medicines for the management of STIs and gynaecological problems. In addition to these services, about 598 beneficiaries received different family planning methods. Periodic health education sessions for women and adolescent girls are another initiative taken under hospital services. Till 25th October 2023, 15282 beneficiaries (both in-patient and out-patient unit) were reached through SRHR information sessions under hospital services. We have also developed a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the service providers working under hospital services with the guidance of GER Expert. Additionally, we have developed an audio-visual clip covering the SRHR activities taken under Hospital Services which is being played at icddr,b Dhaka Hospital at regular interval.
