Global Affairs Canada (GAC) Representatives Edward Cabrera, First Secretary-Development (Health), High Commission of Canada to Bangladesh and Dr Sanjida Hasan, Health & Nutrition Technical Specialist, Field Support Service Project by GAC, visited the study sites of AdSEARCH at Baliakandi, Rajbari. During the visit, they have learnt about the ongoing studies under Baliakandi, including the Adolescent Friendly Health Centre, HPV-DNA Self-Sampling, AdManage,AdSEARCH pregnancy cohort, and TENtrol study. They met with beneficiaries and the local health leaders, the government officials, including the Civil Surgeon of Rajbari district.
During the second day, the visiting team met the Civil Surgeon of Rajbari and the UH&FPO of Baliakandi UHC. Followed by a visit to the Adolescent Friendly Health centre, consultation rooms under AdManage and AdSEARCH pregnancy cohort study, VIA counselling room under the HPV self-sampling study and demonstration of the TENS machine from the TENtrol study.
On the last day, GAC representatives met the study participants and observed the data collection process of a pregnant woman enrolled in the AdSEARCH pregnant women cohort study. They also visited the school-based activities under AdSEARCH with adolescents. Followed by a visit to the VIA camp in Jongol, one of the remote villages in Baliakandi.
