Uddipto provides comprehensive and individualised counselling services to women and adolescent girls facing SRHR-related issues. In addition, Uddipto is committed to promoting health education and has established a Standard Operating Procedure for its service providers. The centre trains counsellors to ensure the highest quality of care for its beneficiaries.

icddr,b and AdSEARCH, in collaboration with the NCDC, have established “Well-being Centres” in seven public hospitals offering tele-mental health counselling services to women with maternal mental health disorders. These centres are addressing mental health disorders and maternal depression to prevent severe mental disorders that heighten risks of pre-eclampsia, haemorrhage, impaired intrauterine growth, and stillbirth.

The AdManage study is working to strengthen primary healthcare facilities by improving the quality and effectiveness of maternal and newborn healthcare services, including ANC, delivery, and PNC services.
AdPreDiCCtion, a cohort study, is conducting clinical assessments and lab testing to assess the burden of selected pregnancy-related diseases, conditions and complications among pregnant women with no previous live birth in rural Bangladesh.

STI Services under AdSEARCH have been designed to address the unique needs of KPs, providing free SRHR services that include treatment of STIs, referrals, and distribution of contraceptives. The centre is committed to promoting safe sexual practices and providing professional counselling services as needed. It also operates in close partnership with government and non-government organisations to provide comprehensive rights-based services.

The Adolescent Friendly Health Service Centre has been established to provide accessible, appropriate and equitable healthcare tailored to adolescents’ needs. As part of a multi-intervention model implemented in collaboration with the Government of Bangladesh, the center plays a crucial role in advancing adolescent health in rural Bangladesh. Besides clinical services, the center offers dedicated psychosocial support delivered by a trained counsellor, addressing the mental and emotional well-being of adolescents.

To support the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) in COVID-19 testing and ongoing monitoring of SARS-CoV-2 variants, the Virology Laboratory of icddr,b conducted investigations. It is one of the few in Bangladesh that has international accreditation to handle the SARS-CoV-2 and is capable of testing a large number of samples. Testing remains crucial as it helps to characterise the prevalence, spread, and contagiousness.
