The High Court has prohibited the use of the “two-finger test” in the physical examination of women who have survived rape. However, many specialist physicians, including those involved in medico-legal examinations, remain unaware of the ruling. The initiative taken by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in this regard has also been limited in scope. Greater awareness and systematic dissemination are necessary to ensure effective implementation of the judgment.
