According to the study, 64 percent of 1,255 adolescent girls aged 12 to 16 reported experiencing at least one menstrual health issue. Among these, severe menstrual cramps or dysmenorrhea was the most prevalent condition, affecting 56 percent of the respondents.
Furthermore, one in three girls experienced severe pain three or more times during the study period, while 9 percent suffered from the condition chronically.
