Primary Infertility care-seeking and Service Provision in Bangladesh: A Mixed Method Study

In Bangladesh, infertility is an under-recognised reproductive health challenge, often overlooked amid ongoing efforts to reduce fertility rates. Despite the increasing prevalence of primary infertility from 1.8% in 2000 to 2.4% in 2018, it remains largely absent from national health programs, and access to care is hindered by stigma, financial constraints, and inadequate healthcare infrastructure. This study examines the care-seeking experiences for infertility, the availability of services, and the systemic challenges in providing infertility care in Bangladesh.
